COOK’S KITCHEN

Who would have thought that a round of golf could inspire a meal such as this?

That’s what happened when I partnered with Dave Page at Whitney Oaks. While we were scoring birdies and eagles, we were talking about short ribs and leg of lamb paired with Pinot Noir and perfect side dishes of fried potatoes and green beans. The garlic mint yogurt sauce may have enhanced the lamb but the Dulce de leche gelato bars topped with strawberries stole the meal.  We are six SIRS who like to cook, who like to share, who will try new foods and try new techniques—all to enhance our friendship

There are many activities offered by Branch 98.  There is one that is a bit different, Cook’s Kitchen.  It is a made up of 6 members who enjoy getting together for lunch.  We don’t explore unique eateries in the area, we instead rotate monthly to each other’s homes where the host cooks lunch. This can involve everything from your version of a gourmet hamburger to chili, to BBQ ribs to whatever you want to cook and feel that others will eat.  It has been a lot of fun and entertaining.

We are looking for 2 to 3.new members who want to join us for lunch.  If interested, please contact Bill Warfield or Jim Friedrich.
