August 22, 2023

Beer Nutz headed up the hill to Auburn for beer at the Moonraker brewery on Thirsty Thursday August 17th. The weather was warm, the beer was cold and the small gang of five were great. We sampled Ales, Stouts and an IPA. We were indecisive about our next location so we will return to the default venue Moksa, Barrelhouse

July 20, 2023

Beer Nutz had to find a larger venue for our ever increasing number of beer drinkers and GB Brew Co fit our crew. Three new members, Bruce Hopkins, Bud Ashton and Kevin Pezzotti fit right in with our friendly group. Bruce shared his unique brewing experience that made us want to tryout his success while Kevin and Bud are just great companions that you would want to sit next to at a beer pub. From the picture all raised their glass to show that they loved their beer choice. Only one did not. Next month we are headed north to Auburn to meet at Moonraker Brewery on Thirsty Thursday August 17 at 4:30 where the biggest beer drinkers say that EVERY ONE can find a beer to like. We shall see If you want to join us contact Jim Friedrich, text him at (916) 768-6942 or email him at jfried83@gmail.com

June 15, 2023

Beer Nutz went nuts at Kevin Mahoney’s back yard over the BYOB invitation. More beer than any ten guys ‘thirsty for the latest’ could drink.  We had three different home brews, two exclusives that can only be purchased at the brewery and one mystery brand that no one could guess.  Not even the neighbor’s tree trimming could drown out the lively chatter about the next brew from our crew. Thank you, Kevin.

May 18, 2023

On May 18, 2023 we had a gathering of like minded souls looking for the meaning of life. There were only 4 of us, with one of us abstaining from alcohol. The other 3 had delicious libations from the beer bar. We met at the Dog Haus Biergarten and had great beer and friendly talk.

APRIL 20, 2023

Our next meeting is on Thirsty Thursday April 20 at 5pm. We are headed to Hillenbrand Farmhaus Brewery in Newcastle. If you are interested in joining then text, call or email  Jim Friedrich  916-768-6942  Jfried83@gmail.com

MARCH 16, 2023

Beer Nutz had another amazing night at the High Hand Brewery in Loomis. First, the brewery just opened 3 days prior to our visit. It felt like they were waiting for us to approve of their beautiful, spacious and open venue. Second, the brewery had a wide selection of beer and everyone, but one person, enjoyed what they ordered. Finally, the most surprising experience was watching five SIRS swill down the most delicious tacos. I’m sure the beer made those tacos taste better.

Beer Nutz had a great time at the Boxing Donkey in old town Roseville on Thirsty Thursday February 16. This was our largest and loudest group ever—just short of a beer brawl. The featured beers were “old Rasputin” (no relation to the ass Putin in Russia) Smithwicks Ale (you win a prize if you pronounce it correctly) and a rare appearance of “Pliny the Elder”

Next month we are meeting at High Hand Brewery on Taylor Road in Loomis. Our meeting will commence at 4:30 on March 16. If you are interested in attending please let know.

Beer Nutz Outing in January 2023

We visited  the The Brass Tap, Rocklin on Thursday,  January 19, 2023

Beer Nutz Outing in December

Beer Nutz had an amazing time at Moksa on Wednesday December 14. With cheers from patrons to beers from bartenders a good time was had by all. Moksa is famous for its stout beer and Indulgence didn’t disappoint. It was described as a German chocolate cake disguised as a beer. Others preferred double IPA and one claimed the triple IPA was the best. Next meeting will be on thirsty Thursday January 19 at 430. We will visit the Brass Tap on Sierra College Blvd.  If you want to join us contact Jim Friedrich at jfried83@gmail.com

Beer Nutz Outing in November

Slice Beer in Lincoln at 665 6th St, Lincoln, CA 95648.

Beer Nutz met at Slice of Beer brewery in downtown Lincoln on Thirsty Thursday (Nov 17). We tried different beers but settled on two favorites—hazy ipa or imperial stout. We had many stories to share with much laughter.

Next month we return to the original Moksa Brewery on Sunset and pacific but we have to meet on Wednesday Dec 14 because many of us will be at the SIRS Christmas party on Dec 15. You can easily find us at the Xmas party because we will be drinking (wait for it) beer.

We will meet there at 4-thirsty (4:30 pm). If you plan to come, text me at (916) 768-6942  or email me at jfried83@gmail.com

Beer Nutz Outing in October

Beer Nutz had a great time at Katherine’s Biergarten in Rocklin. We tried five different beers-Doppelboch, IPA, two different Oktoberfest beers and a Hofbrauhaus lager. A good time had by all. It’s interesting how our stories got funnier as we drank more beer.

Next month we plan to visit Slice Beer in Lincoln at 665 6th St, Lincoln, CA 95648
We will meet there on the third Thursday Nov 17 at 4-thirsty (4:30 pm). If you plan to come  Text me at (916) 768-6942  or email me at jfried83@gmail.com

Beer Nutz Outing in September

Beer Nutz went to UOB University of Beer in Rocklin (not Roseville).  The address is 6815 Lonetree Blvd #101, Rocklin, CA 95765, otherwise known as UOB.  We took advantage of the specials. Lots of free stuff.  The Stout was a little thin but the Pugilist brought out the fight of flavor.  Our largest Nut had a Hefeweizen and found it tasty.  The Ales we tried were called Slaying Power and Blood on the Trax.   Both were beasts in our group.

Beer Nutz will meet again in March.

We will return to the Moksa Brewing Company on the third Thursday, which is March 17, at 4 pm. Moska is located in Rocklin at 5860 Pacific St, at the corner of Sunset.  Moksa Brewing Co. opened its doors in 2018. It is a small independent craft brewery, whose brewers come from a rich, professional brewing background. It now has a variety of complex, hop-heavy IPAs, pale ales, kolshs and endless variations of lagers, porters, and stouts... just to name a few.

New SIR participants should email Jim Friedrich at jfried83@gmail.com with Beer Nutz in the subject line.
