Bocce Ball is normally played at the Sun City Roseville Bocce Ball courts.  The “official” bocce ball season runs from April through October.  We normally play bocce ball at least three times a month on Wednesday mornings starting at 8:30 a.m.  You can play bocce ball as little or as much as you like.  There is no upfront time commitment required.  Refer to the Rooster Tale or the monthly bocce ball newsletter for the scheduled play dates each month.

In addition to playing just for fun, every month players can compete to earn the highest win ratio and be named Champion of the Month.  Players also compete throughout the season to be named player with the highest YTD win ratio. During October, the monthly champions plus the player with the highest YTD win ratio compete to earn the title of Branch 98 Bocce Ball Champion of the year.  The winner is honored and presented with a trophy at the November SIR luncheon.

Some members get to compete in the SIRS regional bocce ball competition where they play against other SIR branches each month throughout the season.  At the end of the year the winning branch receives a traveling trophy to keep for the following year.

We are always looking for new players whether you are a novice or an experienced player.

It is fairly easy to learn how to play bocce ball but it takes time to refine your skills.  If you have never played bocce ball and would like to learn, you are welcome to show up at any of our scheduled play times.

If you have any possible interest, the first thing you should do is get on the bocce ball mailing list so you can receive a monthly newsletter regarding our planned activities and scheduled play dates for the month.  Then drop by the courts on any scheduled play date and join in the fun, exercise, and friendly competition.

If you are new to the game and want to learn what it is all about, come to any scheduled play date and we will gladly give you a lesson and teach you all you need to know to get started.  If you prefer, you can make arrangements for a one on one lesson instead with Bocce Gordon.

If you have any questions or interest in bocce ball with Branch 98 or wish to get on the bocce ball mailing list, simply contact Gordon Badovick at (916) 872-5873 or at drgbadovick@aol.com.
