Our branch loves poker!

We have many different poker groups, all with 7-8 regular members plus some subs. Some groups meet during afternoon hours and the rest meet in the evening. Each group meets once a month on a designated Tues. Wed. or Thurs. Some have a brief meal and play for about 3 hours.

We start new groups whenever we get enough interested players.

Third Thursday Poker Group:  Greg Davis 

Time: 1:00 to 4:00, Third Thursday each month except December

Buy-In $15 — chips are 25 cents each — 50 cents max bet — 3 raises – no check/raise.

Play is Dealer Choice – no specific game requirement

Host home rotation by last name alphabet—Host is responsible for communication to players and ensuring that there are at least 6 players to play; 7 are preferable. Host provides beverages (Bottle water, beer, wine) plus light snack such as chips, popcorn, etc. Inquiries may be addressed to Greg Davis at liongreg01@gmail.com

Fourth Wednesday Poker:  Pete Morelli

This group has been playing together for about 8 years.  We gather at one member’s home on the evening of the fourth Wednesday of the month, except for November and December.  The evenings’ host supplies beverages (beer, wine, soft drinks) and light appetizers for the group.  We play from 6:30 until 10:00.   The traditional games we play are various versions of stud poker (5, 6 & 7 card variants) & 5 card draw.  We also play some Omaha, Vermont, 5-2-2-1, Criss-cross, Chicago, No-peek, 5 1/2 – 21, 7 – 27 among others.  The game selection is dealer’s choice, but we don’t do wildcards, and if you’re not comfortable with the game you can sit-out the hand.  It’s a friendly game with a $10 buy-in, 25 cent ante, 50 cent limit and a max of 3 raises.  We have a full complement of 8 regular players, but do maintain a subs list in case a regular player is unavailable.  If you’d like additional info on our group give Pete Morelli a call.

First Wednesday Poker Group:  Angelo Cuero

This group plays in the afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm. There are six regular players.  The host provides refreshments. There is a 50 cent limit with a maximum of three raises.  A very fun group.  Angelo would like to start a Pedro group (a card game) popular in San Francisco.  If you are interested, give Angelo a call.
